Wow, I actually got around to finishing this chapter! What a letdown that it’s not the last one anymore…
IT’S ALL LED TO THIS. Okay, so I know I took almost five months to get this chapter done, but… well, this time it’s real: Hector and his pals are REALLY nearing the end of this book. Prepare for hijinks!
Urickh’s sheriff was a few sandwiches short of a picnic and about as sharp as mashed potatoes. He tried his best, but Urickh was a crime-ridden town, and the sheriff had a hard time keeping up. So, you shouldn’t be surprised when I tell you that a group of six thugs...

His persistence and understanding of the cave’s responses mark a breakthrough in his quest for freedom.

Kpleeb awoke in a cave, feeling bored and hungry. He struggled to mark time without tools. The hollow in the cave gave him unusual food, and the stone changed at his touch. He doubted the spirits his tribe believed in. As he lay down, he wished for home, longing to share his strange experiences.
