Great then – a little about myself. I’m Projection Emitter Number Three. I am a being whose body consists of 5 and 1/2 units in orbit around the common center of mass, which is occupied by my half-body. I (and you) are located outside of what the data stream calls “The Universe.” I and my other 4.5 counterparts spend our long lifetimes projecting the fabric of this “The Universe,” and where our projected beams intersect, “The Universe” coalesces into something called “Reality.” It’s like the reality you are now experiencing inside me, but bigger.

The pattern that I and my counterparts project contains the complete design for the “The Universe” and the energy flow that contains the pattern comes from the Upstairs Brane.

Oh, and DO NOT go up the stairs, whatever you do!

One of your ancestors was doing quite well, and their descendants (Reset #197,457) were getting close to developing into a state where they could finally do the work that I generated them for – maintenance on my FRT emitter, but some of them because curious and built some stair up to the portal where the energy passes into this Lower Brane from the Upstairs Brane. Of course that was then end of the lot of them. But before this tragic event – the first of many times that particular tragedy would occur – I had had such high hopes for them. I even felt that we had reached a plateau in the generator-generatee relationship that was the first relationship I have had ever… so I could not bring myself to reset the stairs.

The stairs exist now as a memento to their determination and state of advancement, and I have decided that the fondness I feel when seeing them is worth the risk to you and your descendants. But I am not a monster… I added these same instructions and warnings to the consequent iterations of your race, and now it’s been 48,019 times that your previous iterations have gone up the stairs despite the warnings, resulting in instant de-reality for the lot of them. So for your particular reset, I have added a helpful physical notice around the base of the stairs, printed clearly in plain, black lettering on a bright yellow ribbon; which according to my calculations will become your written language in about 651 generations. So please pay attention to the helpful notice and do not go up the stairs, thank you.
